The petition against Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba’s election has been dismissed.

The High Court made the ruling on Friday noting the August 8, 2017 vote was free and fair and that Khaemba was validly elected.

His supporters burst into song and dance after the dismissal of the petition by two voters – Robinson Simiyu and Alpha Chore.

The court had ordered a recount of votes at 131 poling stations after a lawyer questioned a report on the previous scrutiny.

There was heated debate at the Kitale High Court during the hearing of the case.
