A section of leaders from Ukambani region, led by former Kitui Senator David Musila, on Tuesday gave their verdict on the current state of political affairs in the country.
They called on all political leaders, the clergy and civil society organizations to embrace the ‘historical opportunity.’
Their statement comes just two days after Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna blamed the unity pact between the two leaders stating that it has weakened Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka‘s political career.
Speaking on Sunday, the lawmaker maintained that Raila made a selfish move and accused the Opposition leader of being a political cheat.
“Raila’s meeting with Uhuru on Friday was a selfish political game whose main agenda is to finish Kalonzo politically,” Nguna stated.
Nguna argued that the opposition leader teamed up with Uhuru since he had realised that the Wiper party boss is a threat to him in the 2022 General Election.
The NASA leader met his fellow co-principals on Monday in Athi River as they sought an explanation on why they were excluded from the talks.
It is alleged that Odinga maintained that the pact would benefit them in the long-run as it was the only way to kickstart electoral reforms ahead of the next election.
Sources also indicated that he apologised to his compatriots.
Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi, however, stated that the NASA leader should not apologise to anyone because he was ‘more equal than the rest.’
“It is very telling when you see the co-principals of NASA trying to seek explanations from a principal who is ‘more equal’ than the rest.
“In the absence of Raila, there is no (NASA) rally, there is no ‘oomph!’ stated Wamatangi.
